The Emotional Intelligence Of Our Second Gen.

Following on from my previous blog post, I had a conversation recently with a second gen brother who had recently returned from serving a two year stint on STF Europe. I consider this brother a very Abel type person with a heart of gold and a capable person. He is much loved by his parents. In the process of sharing with him my early church experiences I was shocked to hear his own admission that he himself lacked confidence. I was equally surprised to hear him say that he thought "all the STF…See More

What Is Your Parenting Style?

Posted on March 27, 2011 at 4:50am 0 Comments

There is a good chance that you, who is reading this, is a parent to your own physical children and/or spiritual children. And if this is not the case now it probably will be in the future.

For years I held some grudges against my parents for the way I was parented. After I joined the church I came to the conclusion that my parents and pretty much all parents do the best they can to be parents given their level of intelligence (intellectual, emotional etc), life experience, how they…

The Fundamental Truth Of The Universe Is The Parent-Child Relationship: An 8 Point Reflection

Posted on March 27, 2011 at 4:04am 0 Comments

“The fundamental truth of the universe is the parent-child relationship.”    True Father

Since True Father first uttered these words in his world peace tour speech a few years ago I have been in reflection mode trying to comprehend the depth of these words. I was especially drawn to these words because True Father does not say “a fundamental truth...” Rather he says “the fundamental truth...” which implies that it has universal application.…

Emotion Coached Kids Do Better

Posted on March 23, 2011 at 4:35am 7 Comments

In 2003 I first came across a book authored by John Gottman titled: "Raising An Emotionally Intelligent Child: The Heart O f Parenting" . I immediately put some of the ideas into practice in parenting our four children and was amazed at the results I observed. That one book changed my parenting style forever.

7 Great Benefits Of Emotion Coaching

Before I share some personal experiences let me tell you what the benefits are of emotion coaching your…

Just a motivational thought...and oh..how the years have flown..be blessed my brother...

The only way impossible can continue to be impossible is if nothing changes. And as is clearly obvious, life is always changing with every passing moment.

The concept of impossible is a static concept. Yet you are a dynamic force and as such, impossible does not really apply.
Yes, something may indeed be impossible at the moment. It won't stay impossible for long.
How many good and fulfilling things have you given up on because they once were impossible? Perhaps it's time to consider them again.
Whatever you're able to achieve, comes from the realm of what is possible. And then, every achievement makes even more things possible.
Clearly focus your thoughts on the most wonderful outcome you can envision, and get yourself moving to make it happen. If it's not possible now, it will be very soon

Dear Paul,

Thank you for your consistent missionary efforts here and on Youtube. By the way, my 3rd son with the Japanese government dispatched Ship for World Youth began its some 40-day voyage today is visiting the city of Brisbane on Feb.9 .  Hope the recent disaster will not prevent him and his nearly 300 colleagues from landing and doing their friendship mission there.

Dear brother Saver
Thank you for your immediate reply. I do appreciate that. What you have told me make sense. I know I should be there for them. That is my weak point that I can't totally sacrifice myself for sake of others and have fun with it. And also I've read the testimony of famous author's daughter(Arnold Lobel) saying that her that always take care the family first then after he put them to sleep at night, he started to write stories to share with his friends and family as a gift something like that.
Anyway, with you and others help I shall over come my struggles for sake of my family. Thank you again, you seems like truly a saver, as your last name says!
By the way, here's the link to my story on youtube site.
